Background
Mike Orsmond is from East London, South Africa. There he spent most of his youth playing competitive water polo and surfing at Nahoon beach. In the last year of high school, at the age of 17, he became a Christian and started on the great adventure with God by daily following Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Having completed a Bachelors of Commerce degree at Rhodes University and following a very short stint as a school teacher, Mike felt God was calling him into youth work. So, for the next two years he was a youth worker in a Baptist Church in South Africa. Then he came to London for a one-year working holiday. However, many opportunities opened up for him and now, some years later, he is still living in the United Kingdom.

During his time in London he not only worked for a Japanese commercial bank but also worked for an Anglican church, St Michael's, as a lay assistant, before going to the London School of Theology to do both an undergraduate theological degree and a Masters in Aspects of Biblical Interpretation. Following graduation, he became an Open Learning tutor at the London School of Theology, and the associate minister at Rickmansworth Baptist Church. Mike then moved to Swansea as a full-time lecturer at Trinity School of Theology for a year prior to his marriage to Victoria in the summer of 2009. Mike and his wife Victoria now live in london and Mike is once again very involved in Rickmansworth Baptist Church as well as lecturing at Trinity School of Theology.
