Our Heritage
When you study at Trinity you’re drawing on a rich and fruitful line of Christian ministry and mission. Founded as the Bible College of Wales by Rees Howells, the well-known missionary and intercessor, Trinity continues to build on a foundation of prayer and proclamation - convinced of God’s power, compassion and concern for our world.
Our Location
We are very centrally located in Rugby in the East Midlands - a ten minute walk from the train station, on one of the main east/west and also north-west/south-east railway lines. We are also very close to the motorway network (both the M1 and the M6) and are therefore easily accessible for students commuting in for the day, as well as moving to the area for their studies.
Our Connections
Trinity is part of Global Horizons, which covers a group of churches in the UK and internationally, offering opportunities for practical placements and service. We also work with Christians from all mainstream churches and networks. Trinity also partners with colleges that are associated with Global Horizons in different parts of the world, providing further opportunities for exposure to other cultures and countries.
Centred In Scripture
At the heart of all we do is a commitment to the development of a deeper knowledge and understanding of the Bible. The content, context and value of the Old and New Testament scriptures are conveyed through lectures and small group discussions.
Encountering The Spirit Of God
We place a strong emphasis on the Person and work of God the Holy Spirit and are fully Trinitarian in doctrine and practice. The Holy Spirit transforms our character, illuminates our understanding of scripture, develops our gifts for service and brings the intimate presence of God into our daily lives. We encourage dependence on the Spirit in our worship, teaching and life.
Developing A Life Of Prayer And Faith
Trinity continues the emphasis that Rees Howells and his successors placed on prayer and faith. Prayer is a vital part of our ministry and life and there are weekly opportunities to focus on prayer for the work and mission of the church across the nations.
Faith In Practice
We place a strong emphasis on the practical outworking of faith and academic study. All students have the opportunity to engage in some form of practical service in ministry placements as part of their studies and we’ll help you to find a project tailored for your own unique talents and personality (see our ministry opportunities page for more details).
Reaching The Nations With The Gospel
Former students have gone on to serve Christ in many different ways. We are aware of people who have worked or ministered in over 90 countries. God uses each of us uniquely with the gifts and talents He has given us. Our vision is to see the Gospel impact the nations and we will encourage you to develop your particular gifts towards this goal, whether in the UK or abroad (see our alumni page for more information).
Extending The Kingdom
At Trinity, we place Christian ministry and service in the wider context of the extension of God’s kingdom worldwide. That is why we focus on the whole person - the development not only of our intellect and understanding, but of character, prayer, relationships and practical skills.
There is an arts and cultural strand alongside the academic disciplines, which covers music and worship, Christianity & the arts, and Christianity & the media. With strong pastoral support we provide opportunities to get involved with community work and service in social action.
A Supportive Community
There is a strong sense of community at Trinity, which is maintained by all students and staff. You will be given a personal academic tutor and all first year students are assigned a second or third year “buddy” to help them settle into college life (see our student support page for more details).
A Flexible Approach - Something For Everyone
We offer a range of training opportunities tailored to your individual requirements. As well as nationally-recognised 1, 2 or 3 year courses, we offer short courses, evening classes and special “Hot-Topic” days with guest speakers (please see our course outline page for more details).
Affordable
Trinity offers a competitive rate for it’s courses and reviews this on a yearly basis to ensure that applicants are not disadvantaged by the financial aspect of attendance. UK students are able to access the government’s Student Loan programme and a number of our students have used this system to finance their studies at the college.
